Virtu - Art are pleased to announce this unique opportunity to the artistic community of West Cork. The exhibition will run from St. Patricks Day, Wednesday 17th March until Monday 12th April. This exhibition will be unique as it will provide not only the REAL time exhibition at Doswell Gallery but also a Virtual exhibition on the Virtu - Art web site, thus giving the exhibitors and visitors to the Gallery the opportunity to view a comprehensive display of West Cork Art. The online exhibition of South West Cork Delights will be available at 12 Noon of Wednesday 17th March.

The official opening @ Doswell Gallery will take place on Wednesday afternoon on 17th March at 15:00 to 18:00. Informational Exhibition leaflets will be available for those that attend the exhibition.

Ambient music played by well known traditional flute player Garry Walsh who will be playing a selection of West Cork tunes throughout the afternoon of the opening. We hope to engage the visitor to the exhibition visually and acoustically with a combination of sensory delights.

Interesting Facts about exhibiting artists

Virtu - Art has gathered a few interesting facts about the exhibiting artists for instance for Susanne Leutenegger, the choice of colour and and more particularly its quality is extremely important. She preferres to mix her own using concentrated pigments, oxides, marble dust and quartz dust binding them with acrylic medium.

Did you know that David Seeger attended school in Bradford alongside his contemporary David Hockney, during which time both were obliged, effectively, to teach themselves art. During the period 1959-61, Seeger exhibited his abstract works at the Young Contemporaries Exhibition, in London, was selected to show at Gimpel Fils Gallery - where he sold his first sculpture for £30 - and showed at the Artists International Association Gallery, London.

Gert J. Van Maanen is now using an alternative colour pallette " Since I am using more dry pigments in my smaller paintings I intend to work with more different colours. So after 25 years it's not only blue and black anymore. " and also recently Gert's work has been part of an Art Crime Fraudulent copies of Gert J Van Maanen's artwork were available for sale on the world wide web.

Nick Taylor finds swimming in deep water terrifying. " Deep water; I admire anyone who swims there. " (odd then maybe his paintings of swimmers is some sort of therapy).

Ros Webb appreciates " all art forms; the good, bad and downright ugly; because for every piece of art (just like for every person); there is someone who loves it. "
